Our Goal
Our goal is to present key facts, figures, and background information about U.S. industrial animal agriculture on an easily accessible website, using credible, up-to-date references.
An industry that plays a minor role in the nation’s economic productivity has become a primary source of industrial harm. This is largely due to a limited awareness of the wide-ranging damages. We want to support the work of others who are contributing to a deeper and more factual understanding.
The animal ag industry degrades every aspect of the environment including biodiversity, air, water, climate, land, and soil. It creates unimaginable suffering for animals. And it negatively affects the lives of workers, the quality of life for local communities, and our public health and finances.
We believe that presenting comprehensive and credible information about animal ag and its impacts is an effective way to influence behavior, improve policy, reduce suffering, and limit environmental and social damages.
